Can you really make money on YouTube? The Answer is YES!
Many people get skeptical when they hear about Make Money from Home ideas. I am not here to sell you anything, I am just going to tell you what has worked for me and you can make the decision whether or not you want to try it also.
First of all, let me start by saying that I still have a full-time job and I am not living in a penthouse suite from my earnings online, but I am able to meet my needs with greater needs now, which is a God-send.
How all of this works
First of all, let me start by explaining how this works so that you can get the big picture. YouTube is much like a Network Television station, so I am going to draw some parallels to show how Google makes so much money every year and how you can make some too. Network TV stations pay for television shows to drive the ratings. They want good content to draw people to their network. The networks sell advertising space and businesses use their marketing budgets to target consumers as they watch television. Okay, most of us already know that.
Essentially, Google is doing the same thing, except you are the producer of the content that is being aired. So when you have video that is drawing a lot of revenue for Google, they will pay you a share of that revenue for driving the traffic. That is as simple as I think I can make the explanation.
How to Get Started
In order to get started, you will need a couple of things. First, you need a YouTube account and a Google Adsense account. If you already have Gmail, then you just need to activate these options for your sign-in name. Setting up an Adsense account takes some time as there is a review process, but it should only be a couple of days.
Second, you need to carefully read the Terms and Conditions on Google Adsense’s page in order to make sure that you stay within their T&C. Violations can get your warned or just out-right banned, so do take care to follow their rules. Probably the most common offense is that someone posts a video that is put to music and the party posting the video does not have the rights to publish the music.
Third, you need to create videos to post on YouTube. This can be done with a smartphone or a digital camera, but quite frankly, it is a very easy process.
The Fourth step is enabling the video for Monetization. Click a couple of check boxes and you are on your way to earning cash based on the number of times someone clicks on an ad they are presented while watching your video.
Tips for Success
Okay, so I watered that down fairly quickly. If you want to set your videos up for success, you will go to the YouTube Keyword Search Tool and research the keywords that you should be using for your videos. These Keyword Tags are very important, as they are what brings people to your video via an internet search.
Another important thing to do is to write a comprehensive description of your video using some of the keywords that you need to show up in a search. This is very important, so do not miss these tips.
The last thing that you need to check is to make sure that your video is categorized correctly. For instance, you would not want a video of your cat doing something adorable under the category News & Politics.
Here is an example of a video that I posted.
